GA4GH 13th Plenary will bring together the global genomics and health community for workshops, presentations, and keynote talks that uncover opportunities to scale genomic and clinical data sharing.
The Global Alliance for Genomics and Health (GA4GH) 13th Plenary will take place in Uppsala, Sweden from 6 to 10 October 2025 at the Uppsala Konsert & Kongress (UKK).
Formed in 2013, GA4GH brings together people from over 500 international organisations to accelerate progress in human health by establishing a shared global approach to responsible, broad, and democratised use of genomic and health data. The GA4GH plenary was established to provide a forum for dedicated collaboration among people of diverse sectors to address existing and emerging topics related to genomic data access, use, and sharing.
Now in its thirteenth year, the GA4GH annual plenary meeting will convene the global genomics community to explore opportunities to develop and implement harmonised standards and tools that enable responsible genomic sharing both within and across borders.
GA4GH 13th Plenary will be co-hosted by SciLifeLab, a collaborative effort between Swedish universities and a national research infrastructure to advance life science research.
Through a week of collaborative workshopping, presentations, and keynote talks, 13th Plenary attendees can learn about GA4GH technical standards and policies, as well as come together to identify collective challenges, share lessons learned, and unlock solutions to scale genomic data sharing.
Plenary sessions will take place over the first two days of the meeting, followed by three days of focused Connect working sessions to advance GA4GH product development and promote collaboration on areas of shared interest.
SciLifeLab and GA4GH will have the support of an international and diverse Programme Committee to help craft a meaningful event. The Programme Committee members are: Lene Cividanes, Danish National Genome Centre, Denmark; Mallory Freeberg, EMBL-EBI, UK; Oliver Hofmann, University of Melbourne Center for Cancer Research, Australia; Ilkka Lappalainen, IT Center for Science, Finland; Hamdi Mbarek, Qatar Genome of Qatar Foundation, Qatar; Mamana Mbiyavanga, University of Cape Town, South Africa; Johan Rung, Uppsala University, Sweden; Shih Wee Seow, PRECISE, Singapore; Lindsay Smith, Sick Kids, Canada.
The Programme Committee will also be inviting wider input from the GA4GH community to help co-create the event agenda. This will include a submission form for proposed Plenary talks and session ideas, in addition to a focus group to support committee deliberations.
Please save the date for 13th Plenary and join us in October 2025.
