Human Pangenome Project (HPP)

Gives access to genomes that represent the diversity of the human population

The Human Pangenome Project (HPP) is an international alliance of genomics partners that provides access to high-quality genomes representing the diversity of the human population. In creating a new pangenome reference, the HPP aims to modernise the human reference genome to better reflect the full range of global genomic diversity — an important step in addressing the inequity and imbalance of prior human genetics research.

The Human Pangenome Reference Consortium is funded by the US National Institutes of Health, specifically the National Human Genome Research Institute.
